Brooklyn Baby parade


One hundred years ago today … Brooklyn’s Standard Union featured a two-page spread of photos of Brooklyn infants and children. Some of the photos were taken during a “baby parade” at Coney Island’s Mardi Gras that we reported about on September 20.

Is it strange that for several of the pictures below, the paper listed the child’s address?

Oddly enough, all of the children, both pages of them, seem to be white.
