Bootleg Whiskey Problems
One hundred years ago today … the policy failure that was Prohibition was leading the consumption of poison sold as whiskey. The New York Daily News was reporting that one in 50 bottles of bootleg alcohol could be lethal–in what one might say is a parallel of today’s fentanyl crisis.
Meanwhile the law was fighting the arrival of smuggled hootch in the harbor.
