“Mow do mnie jeszcze” (“Talk to Me More”)
June is “Immigrant Heritage Month.” Throughout the month we will be posting materials relating to immigration and immigrant cultures of NYC.
One hundred years ago today … “Mow do mnie jeszcze” (“Talk to Me More”), a Polish love song, was recorded at Edison Studios.
Leon Wyszatycki sang lead vocals on the composition by Napoleon Rutkowski. The lyrics had been adapted from a 1894 poem by Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer.
Note: we reported on the Polish newspaper Nowy Świat and the Polish community of NYC about one year ago.
Find “Mow do mnie jeszcze” at Discography of American Historical Recordings.
