Public School 97

One  hundred years ago today… this photo was taken of Public School 97 at Stillwell and Avenue S in Brooklyn, the Gravesend area.

The school opened in 1919, part of a wave of school structures designed by C.B.J. Snyder, whose innovations included greater ventilation and natural light. (See our post about his work from September 1920.)

The building was renovated in 2010. Here it is in 2014.
